Land Acknowledgement

E Aloha kakou,
On behalf of Hawaii Forest & Trail and Kohala Zipline, we acknowledge that we operate on the traditional lands of Native Hawaiians on Hawaii Island. These lands have been stewarded for generations by Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiians) with a deep understanding of the natural world and a profound connection to place.

We honor the history and culture of Native Hawaiians, including their knowledge systems and lifeways that continue to shape these islands and the trails and lands we traverse. We are grateful for the opportunity to experience the beauty and power of Hawaii nei and strive to care for them with respect and responsibility.

Mahalo nui loa for joining us on your adventure.

Hawaiian language note:
We recognize that the Hawaiian language uses diacritical marks (such as the ʻokina and kahako) to indicate pronunciation. While we strive for accuracy, due to technical limitations, these marks are not used on our website. We appreciate your understanding.
